On this day I kept hearing the tune of that Christmas song that says, "Do you hear what I hear?" Instead of those words I was exchanging them for, "Do you see what I see?", but with the same music. Actually this is being typed a couple days later and it is still bringing tears to me. I am surprised it still has so much power.
Dorothea with a university student and a hopeful.

Our team visited with the children from Hai Chau, first taking them out to dinner and then a day later spending the afternoon with them at the pool, swimming, jumping and dancing. When Dorothea and I first began GIBTK and were learning about budgets, someone told me do not to forget to include fun stuff. So we do fun stuff. We treat them as we would our own children. And in many ways they now think of Dorothea and me as their parents. Cool, but with it I feel a large sense of responsibility.
This day at the pool the local press came to film the event and interview our staff. Our government partner informed us that the next day was National Family Day in Vietnam. It is so special that the children got to spend a day with their "parents". Yes here are those tears again. I thought I was distanced enough from the day to not feel this much, but it is real.
Go that way!

GIBTK has influenced these children and given them a sense of belonging. As I began this letter I told you about the song going around my head that goes to the tune of "Do you hear what I hear?" Well, I so wish you could see what I see. I see changed children's lives. The grades of the kids at Hai Chau have gone up. Many are now excellent students and most are above average! Their attitudes are different, not as wild as they were. Yes, maybe it is because they are older but there are the new ones. It is a different place.
The night of the dinner when I first kept saying to myself "Do you see what I see?", I looked at them sitting at a table waiting for their food. I saw several that are in a special tutoring class preparing them for university exams next week. In fact we brought several others from Dia Loc orphanage to stay in Hai Chau to study and prepare. All in all we have 14 kids in this special class.
Hopefully all will pass and we can add them to the 31 orphans and children from extremely impoverished families currently in our "Ann & Dick Moore Tuition Program". WOW! I wish you could see what I see... Hope for a bright future, and not only hope, but steps being taken to get them there! YEA GOD!!! Gosh I feel like getting on top of the roof and shouting YEA GOD! To His Honor. All that we do let it Honor Him.
Future for them, too

If you want to partner with us we are looking for sponsors for these students. For an average of $50 a month you can help send a child to college or University or a higher level vocation. We also are looking for sponsors for our orphanage support. Both can be one time or monthly gifts.
I want to ask you to forgive me for being so bold in asking but many tell me to let you know when there are opportunities to change children's lives. I will be sharing about several others in the coming weeks.
The teens dancing with Hai Chau kids

Speaking of changed young peoples lives, here is a note from Beau Thomas. He is one of the teens that came last year from Texas. He along with Akela Richardson and Jonathon Biggs has started a non-profit called H.U.G.S. The 3 of them are coming back, probably flying as you read this. Here is a short note from Beau.
" This year at Vietnam, the things I'm expecting to happen, to see, to experience are completely different from last year, and I knew it would be but now there even different than I was thinking they would be. I thought I was going to be looking for things to change and things that we would be doing in the future, but now even more so after church this morning I'm getting ready with feeling of lets go in and make the difference now and let God have the future including the trip for the next couple of weeks really just be the vehicles for him to work though; I mean really just let God lay the path before us and let him do all that he really wants to do for their group of people. as we get on that plane tomorrow I am realizing that this is the beginning of a long and prosperous ministry that until now I have called mine but tomorrow will always be known as God's and God's alone."
Thanks for reading and joining us on this trip. You're amazing! Keep praying for us. If you see what I see and can sponsor a student or partner in orphanage you can do it online at www.givingitbacktokids.org and in the comments section let me know what your interest is.
Again thank you and God Bless you!
